Laila was born and raised in the woods of Massachusetts. She studied biology and biomedical physics at Washington University in Saint Louis and combined those interests in her undergrad research project studying effects of hypoglycemia on memory in adolescents using fMRI imaging. Laila will be a second year dental student this fall. If you have any tooth, mouth, oral cavity related questions, definitely come visit her :). Laila loves the outdoors, especially hiking, biking and kayaking. Eating is one of her favorite pastimes and she loves going to new restaurants and trying out different types of food. In her spare time, she also enjoys hanging out with friends, staring at the stars, playing games, getting involved in the community, exploring Philly and traveling the world.
