Miles Davison- B Section GA
Miles Davison hails from Strong Island, NY. However, most people guess that he's from Colorado, or perhaps northern California, which is just fine with him. Miles graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2008 with a degree in Psychology. He moved down to Philadelphia to work for City Year, a national non-profit that is working to turn around our worst performing public schools by engaging 17-24 year olds in a year of full-time service. Miles enjoys trail running, Grey's Anatomy, and ice cream. He's very excited to be a GA in Stouffer, and believes this year is going to be one of the best yet!
Collette Kinane - C Section GA
Collette is a NC native returning to C-section for another brilliant-beyond-brilliant year! She went to Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where she majored in Interior Design (but collected minors in Public History, Spanish, and Studio Art). Collette is a Historic Preservation student in the School of Design. You’re pretty likely to find her on a random sidewalk documenting or doing research on a Philly building. In Stouffer, you’re likely to find her in the B or C section lounge or in her room with the door open (stop by to chat in all cases!). Collette recently accepted a challenge to bake her way through a cupcake cookbook; so be on the lookout for calls for assistance (in both the baking and the eating)! She suffers from a frequent desire to over-use exclamation points (and parentheses), but really hates the abbreviation trend. Although she likes just about everybody, Collette is most easily won over with Cherry-Lemon SunDrop and smarties.
Kathryn Bach - D Section GA
Kathryn hails from the northeast corner of the great state of Connecticut. She grew up on a small family farm and spent most of her childhood covered in mud and grass stains. After her wild childhood, she attended Cornell University where she received both her BS and MS in Animal Science and enjoyed many a Saturday morning at the Ithaca Farmer’s Market. Still not sure what to do with her life after graduation, Kathryn spent a good three years on some crazy adventures that included teaching high school science and living in Europe. Finally, after realizing that veterinary medicine was her calling, she began her most exciting journey yet as a veterinary student at Penn. Now in her 3rd year, Kathryn can be found playing with all sorts of animals (though cows and dogs are her favorite) and loving every moment of it. In addition to her academic pursuits, she loves throwing hilarious little dinner parties, reading a good book, trying new foods, and getting lost in everyday places.
Sasha Spear - E Section GA
Sasha is a first year student in the Graduate School of Education studying School Counseling. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College this past May with a B.A. in Psychology, and after spending the summer in her hometown of Linwood, NJ (...errr…), she is pretty excited for the move to Stouffer. In her free time, Sasha enjoys listening to music (anything from Weezy, to corny 50’s and 60’s rock, to the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s), dancing, wandering the city, coloring, and drinking coffee. On the other hand, she does not enjoy the following: meat, bugs, and reality TV. Though laid-back and sarcastic, Sasha loves to laugh and meet new people.
Everett Benjamin- F Section GA
Everett first arrived to Penn via New Jersey Turnpike. After graduating from the university, majoring in Africana Studies and Political Science, and minoring in Urban Education, he could not leave. Now he is pursuing a master degree from the Graduate School of Education, focusing on Secondary Education. According to rough estimates by his most trusted companions, Everett knows everyone--except, perhaps, you. Why not drop by and meet his smile.
Nathan Watchous - 2nd Floor GA
Nathan grew up doofus in Fremont, MI (the Gerber Baby Food Capital of the World) and graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish. From 2003-2005 he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kazakhstan, where he taught English. For the past five years, he has been living in Washington, D.C. working for Envision, EMI in the implementation of the Junior National Young Leaders Conference. Upon graduation from Penn’s Fels Institute of Government, Nathan hopes to work for an educational non-profit such as Teach for America. He enjoys traveling, buying books he’ll never read and baseball. Nathan is very excited to be a part of the Stouffer House community.
Maggie Wood - 3rd Floor GA
Maggie is from West Chester, PA, a near-by suburb of Philadelphia. She went to Goucher College in Baltimore, MD where she majored in Biology. Unable to decide what subjects she like best, she also minored in English and Spanish. Now she is here for her first year at Penn studying City and Regional Planning in the School of Design. Between college and grad school Maggie spent time working in her parents' bakery business and exploring careers. She enjoys running in the rain, folding origami, gardening, and eating out with friends.
Britt Gross - 4th Floor GA
Britt hails from the Pocono Mts of Pennsylvania and attended college at the University of Vermont. She graduated in 2007 with a degree in Biology and Studio Art. She prefers cold weather and reveled in Vermont's 2 seasons - 10 months of winter and 2 months of bad sledding.
After graduating from UVM in 2007 Britt did a lot of moving around, traveling and working seasonal jobs, through Southeast Asia and the Western U.S. before settling into Penn’s 4 year veterinary program. Britt’s veterinary interests are mostly focused on public health, livestock sustainability and international food security. This year she will be going into her third year a Penn and into her second year as a GA on the 4th floor of Mayer. As far as random tid-bits of information…she can juggle, she prefers her music with some twang, her favorite earthly possession is her road bike and she is happiest when eating mint choc chip ice cream.
Ethan Nguyen - 5th Floor GA
Ethan is a student in the Master of Public Health program, focusing his work on ways to harness media and community-based partnerships to resolve health disparities in immigrant and refugee communities. A graduate of Vassar College where he studied literature, Ethan has a special affinity for dime store romance novels and essays by Annie Dillard. When not studying, he loves to venture out on his bike in search of good bread, coffee or chocolate.
Clement Gyan - 6th Floor GA
His name is Clement Gyan, but he usually goes by Clem. He is from Ghana by way of Yonkers, NY. He attended Bucknell University, and competed in track for four years. In his spare time, he enjoys weight lifting, running and watching college football. This summer, he worked at an acute in-patient psychiatric unit as one of the group therapists in Philadelphia. Then he went home to Yonkers, New York and worked as a sports specialist for a camp with children with ages from 6-13. He really enjoys having fun and hanging out with the people he cares about.
