Dutch Auction

What:

Every year, Stouffer holds an auction on the Sunday after Spring Fling to remember Melissa Sengbusch, a former Stouffer resident and Penn Nursing student who passed away from leukemia before finishing her studies at Penn. Residents, faculty, staff, and alumni bid on donated items and all proceeds benefit the Penn School of Nursing's Melissa Sengbusch Inspiration Scholarship Fund(link is external).

You can become involved in the Dutch Auction in one of three ways:

1) Send a donation idea to our Special Events Manager, Erin O'Malley, via form:

Some examples of past donations include jewelry, artwork, paper editing services, dance lessons, Wawa runs during finals period, homemade dinners, retro Stouffer swag, pie-ing Phil in the face, and bids to cut off a resident's hair (as well as counter-bids to salvage it).

2) Attend the event and bid on your neighbors' donations in the silent and live auctions. The Dutch Auction remains one of Stouffer's most popular events of the year, primarily due to the generosity and enthusiasm of our residents.

3) Do both of the above!
