Visionary choreographers unite with world-class dancers in Philadelphia’s premier contemporary company, BalletX. Known as “a place of choreographic innovation" (The New Yorker), the troupe has received national recognition for its repertoire of 60-plus world premieres filled with athleticism, emotion and grace. Welcome BalletX for their Annenberg Center debut!
Program includes three company favorites:

  • Big Ones by Trey McIntyre featuring a score of all Amy Winehouse music, The New York Times called the work “funny, touching, poignant, stirring"
     
  • Gran Partita by Jorma Elo is inspired by the visual style and lighting design of Orson Welles’ film-noir classic Touch of Evil
     
  • Malsangre by Cayetano Soto features music by "The Queen of Latin Soul," La Lupe, and is an ode to the seekers, people and artists who don't meet society's expectations
