The Stouffer College House reassignment/lottery process is for those who:

1.      Currently live in Stouffer or Mayer and want to live in either Stouffer or Mayer next year, or

2.      Currently live elsewhere on campus but are applying with a current Stoufferite, to be pulled in as a roommate.

First, you must go to myhomeatpenn(link is external) and register to live in Stouffer College House (listed as a residential program) for next year. This applies to current residents as well as students being pulled in. This website will be available on the dates listed in the timeline above. This is mandatory.

Next, read below to find the category that fits you. All the forms referenced below are available from the House Office (Stouffer Hall Suite 142) or the Information Center in Mayer Hall and will also be available here as a pdf.

If you are a freshman living in Stouffer College House and would like to return to Stouffer College House, you have two options:

1.      Reassignment: If you're seeking to get a similar room to the one you have now in Stouffer-Stouff then you are asking to be reassigned.

First, you must go to myhomeatpenn(link is external) and register to live in Stouffer College House (listed as a residential program) for next year. This website will be available on dates listed on the timeline above. This is mandatory.

Next, you must fill out a Stouffer College House Room Preference Form, which is due back to the House Dean by the deadline indicated above. Forms can only be returned to the House Dean's office (Stouffer 142D).

Room assignments will be sent via email. You must let the House Dean know by the deadline indicated, if you accept that space or if you will participate in the lottery.

2.      Lottery: If you're seeking a room assignment different from your current room type, you must participate in the room selection lottery. The times and location for this are listed below.

House Dean contact information: Nadir can be reached by email(link sends e-mail) or in his office in Stouffer 142D.

If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior in either Stouffer or Mayer Hall:

1.      Reassignment: If you're interested in keeping the same room type you have now for the next academic year, you must:

First, go to myhomeatpenn(link is external) and register to live in Stouffer College House (listed as a residential program) for next year. This website will be available during the period listed on the timeline. This is mandatory.

Then, fill out a Stouffer College House Room Preference Form, which is due back to the House Dean by the deadline indicated. You will have an option to choose your current room as your first choice. If your first choice room is assigned to you, then you agree to accept the room, and you do not need to respond to your room selection notification email. Forms can only be returned to the House Dean's office (Stouffer 142D). You will receive notice of your reassignment via email. If you did not receive your first choice, you must let the House Dean know if you do not accept your room assignment by the deadline indicated.

2.      Lottery: If you're seeking a room assignment different from your current room type, you must participate in the room selection lottery. The times and location for this are listed below.

Stouffer College House Lottery

Date: January 27 Time: 6:00 PM Location: Mayer Play Room

If you are not able to attend the lottery, then you can send someone else to pick a room for you, but you must email the House Dean your request to have that person responsible for your room selection. At the lottery, you will pick a number, within your seniority group, and choose a room based on your number. If you lived in Stouffer College House in the semester before your fall/spring/full year abroad, then you may count that semester or year abroad as time in Stouffer. This does not apply to summer abroad.

The schedule for the lottery is as follows:

  • 6:00pm--Residents who have lived in Stouffer for 6 or more semesters (including current semester)

  • 6:20pm--Residents who have lived in Stouffer for 4 or more semesters (including current semester)

  • 6:50pm--Residents who have lived in Stouffer for 2 or more semesters (including current semester)

  • 7:00pm--Residents who have lived in Stouffer for 1 semester, or live elsewhere on campus

You should be prepared to pick a room when your time slot comes up, so you may want to arrive early to see what is still available.

If you want a one-bedroom double in Mayer, it is preferred that you sign up with a roommate. If you want a two-bedroom double, you must sign-up with a roommate. Your roommate need not live in Stouffer College House now. You can pull them in during the selection process.
