Lovingkindness meditation (~20-30m) and lemonade every Saturday at 4 PM @ Mayer Playroom! <3 We'll also have 20 minutes of yoga every other week (or every week, if there's demand). We can use recordings, or I can lead us.
Here's a brief description of lovingkindness meditation: Mettabhavana, or loving-kindness meditation, is a method of developing compassion and feelings of greater well-being towards oneself and others. It comes from the Buddhist tradition, but it can be adapted and practiced by anyone and is a non-denominational practice.
Developing greater compassion and empathy can lead to greater relaxation and peace in one's daily life and relationships, as well as reduction of stress and negative emotions. Lovingkindness meditation also has the benefits of regular meditative practices, including a greater sense of control in day to day life and greater resilience. This kind of meditation is different from traditional breathing-based meditation and focuses more on visualization and affirmations, which may be easier for some.
